Step 1, Generate CSR
Go to https://zerossl.com/ and start FREE SSL Certificate Wizard.
On the new page you are required to enter domain and check options to generate CSR. When enter domain it need to enter both with and without www domain name.
In several seconds you’ll see CSR generated and click download button beside it. The filename is domain-csr.txt if you downloaded it. The file should be kept well as it is required to update your SSL in about 90 days.
Step 2, Generate account key
After downloading CSR txt file then click Next button to generate account key.
In several seconds you’ll see account key and click download button to backup it. The filename is account-key.txt if you downloaded it. The file should be kept well as it is required to update your SSL in about 90 days.
Step 3, verify you own the domain
After downloading and backup your account key then click “NEXT” button to verify domain.
In the verification screen it will guide you how to do it.
1. You need create .well-known/acme-challenge/ folder under your website root directory. I suggest you use FTP tool to create the folders as folder name start . will be hidden in cPanel file manager.
2. create files with given name and content
In the following screenshot you need create two files:
The first file name: PNWrIyb7txNNrhaEB_EdyaCMtTz25C8XmBHbLOdjXvU
The first file content: PNWrIyb7txNNrhaEB_EdyaCMtTz25C8XmBHbLOdjXvU.vme9pAvQaU3Oe84JK_Y0I8j_bC946KBP1NivpEqM6nE
The second file name: o8rZydNZHsg1hFBsk1UlbbIUN0eWI_WZ9luWpFAMC4Q
The second file content: o8rZydNZHsg1hFBsk1UlbbIUN0eWI_WZ9luWpFAMC4Q.vme9pAvQaU3Oe84JK_Y0I8j_bC946KBP1NivpEqM6nE
And then upload the two files to your server .well-known/acme-challenge/
After uploading, you need click the two links to make sure the files cannot visited and contents are right. And then click “Next” button.
Step 4, download your certificate and key
After several seconds you’ll see “Your certificate is ready!”
Download your domain certificate and domain key in the bottom of the screen. Please keep your domain key file well as it is required to renew your certificate. The file name for it is domain-key.txt
Step 5, install certificate to your domain
Now open your cPanel and go to SSL/TLS.
Click “Manage SSL sites”
Scroll page to the “Install an SSL Website” section and paste certificate to the Certificate text area.
PLEASE NOTE: when you copy certificate there are two certificates indeed. You need cut the second one to “Certificate Authority Bundle: (CABUNDLE)” text area.
Then copy private key to the text area.
And then click “Install Certificate” button.
Step 6, successfully installed
After several seconds you’ll see success message
And know you may use https://wpformshelp.com/ to visit the site.
Step 7, fore to use https
But don’t forget to enable SSL after the plugin installation and activation.
